Proto-Turkic

    Etymology

From *yogu- (“to knead”) + *-un. The stem is not attested in Turkic but compare Proto-Mongolic *nïku- (“to knead”). EDAL tries to connect it with Proto-Mongolic *jujaxan (“thick”) however that has a phonetic problem with *-j-.
