Etymology
Čubinov compares with Old Armenian կոպ (kop, “eyelid”), which, unbeknownst to him, would parallel the equation of otherwise obscure Mishnaic Hebrew רֽיס (rīs, “eyelid; eyelash; a race-course or stadium; the measure called stadion”) with Old Armenian երէզ (erēz, “band, bandage”) and Old Georgian რეზი (rezi, “body bandage”) and Old Armenian ասպարէզ (asparēz, “racecourse, stadium; stadion”).
