Etymology
    
Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit *𑀅𑀤𑁆𑀥𑀕 (*addhaga), from Sanskrit अर्धक (ardhaka).[1][2] Doublet of अर्धक (ardhak) and अर्ध (ardh). Cognate with Gujarati અર્ધો (ardho), Marathi अर्धा (ardhā).
