ܡܵܚܹܐ • (māḥē) (present participle ܡܚܵܝܵܐ (mḥāyā), past participle ܡܸܚܝܵܐ (miḥyā))

1. to strike, beat, hit

   ܡܚܹܐ ܠܹܗ ܪܹܝܫܹܗ ܡܲܟܝܼܟ݂ܵܐܝܼܬ݂ ܒܓܘܼܕܵܐ.

   mḥē lēh rēšēh makīḵāˀīṯ b-guddā.

   He hit his head softly against the wall.

   ܠܸܒܝܼ ܒܸܡܚܵܝܵܐ ܝܗ݇ܘܵܐ ܟܠ ܗܵܕܲܟ݂ ܩܸܘܝܵܐ.

   ܡܚܝܼ ܫܝܼܪܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܓܘܼܕܵܐ. ― mḥī šīrā ˁal guddā. ― Apply paint on the wall.

5. to pierce, stab with a needle

   ܡܚܹܐ ܠܝܼ ܚܡܵܛܵܐ ܐ݇ܚܹܪ݇ܢܵܐ. ― mḥē lī ḥmāṭā ḥēnā. ― I got jabbed with another needle.

6. to run a stop sign, traffic light, etc.

7. used to generally talk about the effects of the weather
