Semi-learned borrowing from Classical Syriac ܝܩܝܪ ܛܝ̈ܡܐ‎ (yaqqīr ṭīmē). From the construct form of ܝܲܩܘܼܪܵܐ‎ (yaqurā, “heavy”) + ܛܝܼܡܹ̈ܐ‎ (ṭīmē, “values; prices”), as a subsitute for the common Persianism ܓܪܵܢ‎ (grān).
