Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (ögüt, “advice, admonition”);[1] Tatar үгет (üget), Kazakh үгіт (ügıt), Kyrgyz үгүт (ügüt), Uzbek oʻgit, Turkmen öwüt, Turkish öğüt, Azerbaijani öyüd (“advice, admonition”).
