1. to wait, expect

   Минән хат көт.

   Minən xat köt.

   Wait for a letter from me.

   Яңы йылда һәр бала мөғжизә көтә.

   Yañı yılda hər bala möğjizə kötə.

   At New Near, each child is waiting for a miracle.

   Оҙаҡ көтөргә тура килде.

   Oźaq kötörgə tura kilde.

   Somebody (subjected omitted) had to wait long.

   There were some 15 thousand sheep in Musa's herd (peace be upon him). When he counted (the sheep once) in the evening, he found out that one lamb was missing.
